"Cain & Able" Open Call Auditions
Local filmmaker and Wayne State University graduate, James Turner is holding an open casting call for Cain & Able at 1515 Broadway in Downtown Detroit. The full feature length film will be shot and produced entirely in Detroit and its surrounding cities.
Auditions will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012 from 11:00am to 7:00pm and Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. No appointment is necessary and for the audition, you will be asked to do a cold reading.
Cain and Able are two brothers struggling to get along as they deal with the challenges of inner city life. Cain is the oldest brother, but everyone thinks that he is the youngest because his younger brother is so much more successful than him. Cain eventually lets his jealousy get the best of him and begins to plot against his younger brother with hopes of taking over his brother’s business and claiming success for himself. When Cain kills Able and takes over, the sweet taste of success is not as sweet as he expected. People still don’t like him and he ends up with more responsibility than he can handle. To top it off, he has to live with the fact that he took his own brother’s life and is now responsible for raising his nephew Will alone. Will loves and respects his uncle Cain and has his back no matter what, but when Will finds out that his uncle is the person that killed his dad, he has to choose between forgiving his uncle and avenging his dad.

HART's Shakespeare on the Canal at White River State Park - Othello
Heartland Actors' Repertory Theatre will return to the White River State Park this summer with Shakespeare's Othello.
Equity Principal (LOA to LORT) and Non-Equity open call auditions will be held Monday, May 28th and Tuesday, May 29th from 6-10pm at Butler University's Lilly Hall, Room 328 (3rd floor).
1st rehearsal will be on or about June 24th. Performances on July 20, 21, & 22.
Seeking adult actors of all ages. Some roles precast.

DEAREST: THE MOMMIE MUSICAL @ TOTS seeks M's and F's to complete cast
TOTS is seeking 3-4 (middle aged 40-55, and 1 juvenile/20's)men and 3-4 (middle aged/older) women to complete the cast of DEAREST:THE MOMMIE MUSICAL
Ensemble/Character actors/singers to complete the cast of the world premiere of Ron Spencer's musical working of everyone's favorite tale of Joan Crawford and her difficult relationship with her daughter, her lovers, Hollywood, and, well, everyone. Ensemble actors will be cast in numerous singing and acting roles. You will have plenty to do in bringing this story to the TOTS stage.
Show runs mid June-mid July, with rehearsals beginning immediately.
Still available - are the juicy roles of Carol Ann, faithful housekeeping witness; Mrs Chadwick of the boarding school and Reverend Mother of the Christina's school. All three ladies must sing and will have mulitple parts thru out the story spanning 30+ years.
