Announcing Open Auditions for The Rocky Horror Show at Footlite Musicals
Footlite Musicals will hold open auditions for The Rocky Horror Show, the opening production of our 57th main stage season, Sunday July 15th at 6:30pm and Monday July 16th at 7pm. Possible callbacks will take place Tuesday July 17th at 7pm. Auditions will take place at the theatre’s home, the Hedback Community Theater, 1847 N Alabama St, Indianapolis, IN 46202. The Rocky Horror Show runs September 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30, October 4, 5, 6 and 7. Note that Footlite has expanded our productions this year to 11 performances, adding two Thursday evening shows.
This deliberately kitschy rock 'n 'roll sci-fi gothic is a cult favorite. The musical tells the story of a newly engaged couple, Brad and Janet, getting caught in a storm and coming to the home of a mad transvestite scientist, Dr. Frank N. Furter, unveiling his new creation, a muscle man named Rocky Horror. The original Broadway production was nominated for the 1975 Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience.
All actors should be comfortable in skimpy/tight fitting/revealing clothing and undergarments, showing flesh (but no nudity), heterosexual and homosexual situations, walking and dancing in stilettos (except for the Narrator, Eddie and Dr. Scott), and generally being wild and outrageous.
Prepare a short pop/rock, contemporary or Broadway style song, appropriate for the style of Rocky Horror (but nothing from the show, please.) An accompanist will be provided. Please be prepared to dance, and bring conflicts for rehearsals beginning late July.
The Rocky Horror Show will be directed by Ryan Mullins and produced by Zach Rosing.

- Columbia - 20-35 (Tap dancing experience recommended)
- Eddie/Dr. Scott - 20-45 (Males & females will be considered. Roles could be doubled or individual.)
- Narrator - 30+ (Non-singing)
- Phantoms/Transylvanians - All ages, shapes, sizes and colors. Dancers needed.
